Wes Beckwith:
With more than 15 years of experience, Wes has worked primarily in the IT and publishing communities both as management and as a business owner. During that time he has developed deep skills in web marketing and process refinement, with a particular focus on driving cost efficiency and productivity. Such efforts have resulted in tangible benefits such as decreasing man hours, maximizing web technologies, live product training and creating vertical marketing integration with third party websites.
Beginning his career at Texas Instruments, Wes worked with IC probing equipment and high level engineers to develop cutting edge IC technologies for companies and organizations like Intel, Nasa, JPL and the government. During his time at TI, Wes designed and developed a method for tracking good and bad IC chips that moved TI’s probe department from analog tracking to digital. This implementation alone saved TI in excess of a million dollars the first year the program was implemented both in man hours as well as equipment and materials.
In 2000, Wes went to work Wordware Publishing, a small firm in Dallas Texas. Wes was instrumental in developing several bestselling titles as well as writing a bestselling book himself. While at Wordware, Wes changed their book publishing footprint and saved the company 35% of their printing costs as well as 15% in shipping expenses. In 2004, Wordware was sold to another Publisher out of state and Wes moved on to start his own publishing business, KURV studios.
Having taken Wordware Publishing deep into the visual effects industry, Wes started KURV studios, a DVD publishing company for visual effects artists. With low overhead, and streamlined development, KURV studios implemented a fast pace production with products sold at 60% of the current market rates. Along with this, Wes started three new web sites to support his primary business and vertical market his company. These web sites quickly grew in popularity and soon we getting over 42 million hits monthly from 75,000 unique visitors collectively. These marketing strategies and the cutting edge business development made KURV studios a quick success. In 2008 with the growing economic changes, Wes developed a live training product for KURV studios that again, revolutionized this industry.
