Tip #1 Keyword Research

At WB Consulting we start here, after all picking the wrong keywords is like driving around blind with out a map.  We look for attainable keywords first and target them.  Most firms wont tell you this but the second MOST important step in this is making sure the keywords convert to sales.  There is a big difference in the keyword “Cool Skateboards” and “Cool Skateboard Decks”.  The first keyword is very broad and could include videos, skateboard tutorials, ect..  The second keyword is getting you closer to a product for sale.

Tip #2 Blog

This one is easy, BLOG people, write content, don’t buy it or copy it.  Write it, or have some write it for you.  But don’t buy it online, you stand a high chance of it being copied somewhere else on the internet.  Content is king, and content gets you ranking!

Tip #3 Links Coming In

Register on forums in your industry, make GOOD posts, not spam and be sure that your signature includes a link to your site, or better yet your site and site map, which brings us to tip #4.

Tip #4 Site Map

Make one, keep it up to date and submit it to all engines on every change you make, not several times a day, twice a week at the most.

Tip #5 AdWords

If you have keywords that are REALLY difficult to get good ranking on, use AdWords.  What you may find out is, some of these keywords dont convert to sales, drop them and add others.  While doing this, keep after the organic version as well.
